Sušica Camp
Sušica detention camp in Eastern Bosnia was established on 31 May 1992 under the authority of the Bosnian Serb municipal organs, and remained operational until the end of September 1992. During these four months grave crimes were committed in the camp against Bosnian Muslim civilians – men, women and children. This video tells part of the stories of the survivors.
Faith of Sušica Detainees
On 30 September 1992, a last group of 140 Bosnian Muslim detainees was taken from Sušica detention camp in Eastern Bosnia by the Bosnian Serb police forces. Among the detainees were the two sons of Habiba Hadžić, and their fate remained unknown until she came to testify before the ICTY in 2003.
An extraordinary exchange took place in the ICTY courtroom between the accused Dragan Nikolić, former commander of the Sušica camp, and witness Habiba Hadžić, who was also a former detainee, in which Nikolić revealed what happened to her sons.
