The Appeals Chamber of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals composed of Judge Prisca Matimba Nyambe (Presiding), Judge Aminatta Lois Runeni N'gum, Judge Seymour Panton, Judge Elizabeth Ibanda-Nahamya, and Judge Mustapha El Baaj delivered today its judgement on the appeals filed by Mr. Ratko Mladić and the Prosecution against the judgement rendered on 22 November 2017 by a Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (“ICTY”).

The Appeal Judgement is scheduled for Tuesday, 8 June 2021 at 3.00 p.m. CEST in the Courtroom of the Mechanism’s Hague branch.

The Appeals Chamber of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunal (“Mechanism”) has scheduled the pronouncement of the Appeal Judgement in the case of Prosecutor v. Ratko Mladić for Tuesday, 8 June 2021 at 3.00 p.m. CEST in the Courtroom of the Mechanism's Hague branch.

The accreditation procedure for media and non-media representatives wishing to attend the pronouncement of the Appeal Judgement is now open.

On Tuesday 18 May 2021, the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (“Mechanism”) welcomed three Ambassadors to its Arusha branch premises. The visit was a courtesy call by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Tanzania, His Excellency Peter Van Acker, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Tanzania, Her Excellency Mette Nørgaard Dissing-Spandet, and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Tanzania, His Excellency Jeroen Verheul.

The Trial Chamber at the Hague Branch of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (Mechanism), composed of Judges Burton Hall (The Bahamas), presiding, Joseph Masanche (Tanzania), and Seon Ki Park (South Korea), today concluded the hearing of the parties’ closing arguments in the case of Prosecutor v. Jovica Stanišić and Franko Simatović. The closing arguments were heard from Monday, 12 April, until Wednesday, 14 April 2021.
