Arusha

In Arusha, the Mechanism is located along Haki Road, Lakilaki area, in Arumeru District, some 16 kilometers south of the city, off Dodoma Road, and a few kilometers from the Arusha City Airport..
By air
There are two airports that are relatively close to the Mechanism: the Kilimanjaro International Airport and the Arusha City Airport. The Kilimanjaro International Airport is approximately 60 kilometers (45 minutes) from Arusha city center and 76 kilometers (65 minutes) to the Mechanism. There are regular flights to Amsterdam, Addis Ababa, Nairobi, Kigali, Dubai and several other cities. The Arusha City Airport is approximately 8 kilometers (seven minutes) from the Mechanism. It has domestic flights to Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro and several other local destinations within the United Republic of Tanzania.
By road
Arusha is also well connected by road to Nairobi (about three hours away), Moshi (about 100 kilometers east) and Dar es Salaam (about 800 kilometers south east). There is also a good road connecting Arusha with Dodoma (about 500 kilometers south), the capital of the United Republic of Tanzania.
In Arusha, one can easily reach the Mechanism premises by car. Public transport, though not very reliable, is available in the form of mini-buses (dala dalas). However, these mini-buses drop passengers at the Dodoma–Haki road junction, which is one kilometer from the Mechanism premises. From there, one has to walk to the Mechanism premises.
Parking space is available just outside the Mechanism’s main security gate.
The Hague

In The Hague, the Mechanism is located opposite the World Forum, between The Hague city centre and the Scheveningen district. The Hague’s two main train stations – Den Haag Centraal Station (CS) and Hollands Spoor (HS) – are at a similar distance to the Mechanism.
From Amsterdam Centraal Station or Schiphol Airport there are regular trains to both Den Haag Centraal Station and Hollands Spoor. Tickets are for sale near the platforms at the train stations and at the Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) selling points. For an up-to-date train schedule, please visit the NS website.
By public transport
Trams and buses
- From Den Haag Hollands Spoor station, take tram 1 (direction Noorderstrand) and exit at stop “World Forum”
- From Den Haag Centraal Station, take tram 16 (direction Statenkwartier) and exit at stop “Gemeente Museum/Museon”.
- From Den Haag Central Station, take bus 24 (direction Kijkduin) and exit at stop “Gemeente Museum/Museon”.

By road
The Mechanism does not provide visitor parking. However, you can use the parking facilities offered by the World Forum and in the surrounding area.
From Amsterdam/Leiden
- Take the A44 motorway, direction Centrum Den Haag/Scheveningen.
- The A44 turns successively into the N44, the Benoordenhoutseweg and the Zuid Hollandlaan.
- Turn right at the traffic lights onto the Koningskade, which turns into the Raamweg. After passing under the fly-over, immediately turn right.
- Follow the bend onto the Hubertus viaduct and continue straight on along the Prof. B.M. Teldersweg, which turns into the Johan de Wittlaan.
From Rotterdam
- Follow the A13 to Den Haag.
- At the end of the Utrechtsebaan, turn left at the traffic lights onto Zuid Hollandlaan.
- At the end of Zuid Hollandlaan, turn right at the traffic light onto Koningskade, which turns into the Raamweg. After passing under the fly-over, immediately turn right.
- Follow the bend onto the Hubertus viaduct and continue straight on the Prof. B.M. Teldersweg which turns into the Johan de Wittlaan.
- The Mechanism and the World Forum will be on your right-hand side.
From Utrecht
- Follow the A12 to Den Haag.
- At the end of the Utrechtsebaan, turn left at the traffic lights onto Zuid Hollandlaan.
- At the end of Zuid Hollandlaan, turn right at the traffic light onto Koningskade, which turns into the Raamweg. After passing under the fly-over, immediately turn right.
- Follow the bend onto the Hubertus viaduct and continue straight along the Prof. B.M. Teldersweg, which turns into the Johan de Wittlaan.
- The Mechanism and the World Forum will be on your right-hand side.
